RugMark's vision is to bring an end to the use of illegal child labour in the hand made rug industry, and to break the cycle of poverty by ensuring that children receive an education instead of working.

Child labour may generate a tiny amount of income in the short term, but it perpetuates poverty as the diagram to the left demonstrates.

RugMark's vision does not end with the eradication of child labour, we also aim to ensure decent working conditions and fair wages for all adults working in the industry, and to facilitate improvements in environmental performance.

We hope to announce several new initiatives by the end of 2007. Look out for updates.
