Message from Kailash Satyarthi, founder and director of RugMark

Kailash Satyarthi, Chairperson of Global March Against Child Labour, is a founder and director of RugMark India, and has this message:

"In the course of the physical rescue of children from the rug making industry of South Asia, it was realized that the number of children in slavery consistently grew in parallel to the demand for cheap rugs in the West. This compelled my colleagues and I to launch a consumers' campaign for selective boycott as well as selective promotion. We have successfully initiated an independent, transparent, professional and voluntary monitoring, certification and labeling mechanism named Rugmark"
